Can I leave broadband if the price rose?
Under Ofcom's General Conditions and the voluntary Broadband Code (signed by BT, Sky, Virgin, TalkTalk, Vodafone), you can leave without paying an early termination charge if the price rises more than a specific threshold mid-contract, or the speed drops below the guaranteed minimum.
How do I escalate a broadband/mobile complaint?
First: the provider's complaints team, in writing. Give them 8 weeks or a deadlock letter. Then: the Communications Ombudsman (free for consumers). Ofcom itself does not handle individual complaints.
Not sure where to start? Upload the letter.
Decoded reads any letter, bill or notice and tells you plainly what it is, what deadlines apply, and which tool to use next.
